I have a job where I interview and photograph restaurants. Sometimes I get free food out of the process.
It might be the best job I’ve ever had.
Recently, this job enabled me to photograph God’s glorious gift to Mankind- the grilled cheese sandwich.
I photographed grilled cheese sandwich after grilled cheese sandwich.
IT WAS AWESOME!
Here are some outtakes from that photoshoot.
Enjoy!
Here are the sandwiches before they’re pressed
They squiggle butter onto the sandwiches
Then it comes out looking like this!
AND THIS!
And this…which kind of looks gross because it has tuna fish on it, but it’s delicious
This is a photo of a dollhouse grilled cheese sandwich. It came to my attention via @Tillamook Cheese’s twitter feed. I am a big fan of Tillamook Cheese and they’re super fun to talk to on Twitter. I highly recommend following them.
Speaking of Tillamook Cheese- this photo was taken when I toured their factory in Tillamook, Oregon two years ago
I have seen heaven, and it looks like a cheese factory

OMG CHEESE!!!! I love cheese so much. It’s not normal or healthy, but I can’t help it. If you ever need an ode to cheese, I’m your girl 🙂
Ha! I will remember that. Let’s have a queso party sometime!
It’s a deal! Fair warning – my queso is legendary and has won contests. True story 🙂
Whoaaaa. Cool! Tell me more! What contests?
Love this post! I work on the Online Team at Tillamook and this just made our day.
Kathy, don’t beat yourself up too badly! When the cheese is natural (and not processed) it can actually be good for you! I know I have my biases, but scientifically it’s true 😉
And I would LOVE a good queso recipe??? We’ll be standing by (drooling)…

You commenting just made my day! Thanks!
This is the most exciting day ever – a comment from a purveyor of cheese!! Sadly, I cannot give my recipe….. because it’s boring as hell! I won 2 queso contests at work – I beat like 5 other people. The secret to queso is keeping it simple. Queso is a snack food that people want to munch on. If it’s to weird/spicy/clumpy it becomes unsnackable. So mine’s pretty plain – but it’s so perfectly balanced you won’t be able to stop eating it!!
